Ashley M. DeMouy
Ashley M. DeMouy was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in 2015 and the State Bar of Georgia in 2022. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S Eastern District of Louisiana, U.S. Middle District of Louisiana, U.S. Western District of Louisiana, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and Supreme Court of the United States. She joined the firm in 2022 and her practice focuses on insurance defense, automobile liability, and insurance coverage.
Ms. DeMouy received her education from Eleanor McMain Magnet Secondary School, Xavier University of Louisiana (B.S.), the University of New Orleans (M. Ed.), and Loyola University New Orleans College of Law (J.D.). Additionally, Ms. DeMouy is a 2017 graduate of the National Criminal Defense College. While in law school, Ms. DeMouy was a member of Loyola University Law School’s Trial Advocacy Team and got her first trial experience as a Rule XX Student Practitioner through the Law School Clinic. Additionally, she was a member of Loyola University’s Black Law Student Association Mock Trial Team and competed in mock trial competitions in Louisiana and Tennessee. She has since tried more than ten jury and bench trials to verdict.
Ms. DeMouy has extensive experience in the Louisiana court system. Before and during law school she worked in Orleans Parish Juvenile Court and the Orleans Public Defender’s Office. Following law school, Ms. DeMouy served as a judicial law clerk in Orleans Parish Civil District Court where she was involved in all stages of cases before the Court, including the preparation of written legal opinions and judgments and jury selection in various areas of civil practice. She has practiced both Plaintiff and Defense work in Labor and Employment, Criminal Defense, Juvenile Defense, Child in Need of Care, Adoptions, Family Law, and Successions. She has also served as an Administrative Law Judge for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, handling unemployment claims.
Ms. DeMouy currently serves as a National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) Faculty Member teaching Deposition Skills and is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia, New Orleans Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, Claims and Litigation Management Alliance, Defense Research Institute, Louis A. Martinet Legal Society, and the Association for Women Attorneys. In addition to her professional affiliations, Ms. DeMouy serves on several community boards, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
